Accessories are sold separately and there are many options available to suit a person's sensory needs.

Some ways extra Know ID cards can be useful:

Keep an additional card with vehicle registration/insurance. These are common items an officer may ask for. In the event of a traffic stop or accident, you don't know which you'll hand over first (license or registration) and you want to get your KnowID in the officer's hands as soon as possible. Keeping a card with these documents is a best practice.

For those who choose to display their KnowID on their clothes, having extras on hand is a best practice in case the card is lost, pulled off by the wearer, or ends up in the laundry (it happens!)

Keeping extra cards in bags, backpacks, or vehicles is also helpful in case the card is forgotten at home.

All behavior statements are fully customizable.

Some examples are below, but you can add your own:

  • If I am alone, it means I am lost. Please scan QR code on back or call police.

  • I may become agitated when scared.

  • I may not respond to commands.

  • Loud noise upsets me. Please do not yell at me.

  • Please give me one instruction at a time.

  • I may not make eye contact when you speak to me.

  • I may run when I'm scared.

  • I am non-verbal and unable to answer you.

  • I may suddenly move or flap my hands. I am not trying to harm you.

  • My speech is delayed. Please be patient with me.

  • I may act aggressive when I'm scared. I'm not trying to harm you.

  • I have movement difficulties. It may take me longer to stand, sit, or walk.

  • I am Deaf. Please use text or an interpreter to communicate with me.

  • I may give answers unrelated to your question.

  • I have processing delays. I may not understand you right away. Please be patient with me.

These are just examples as each individual has different needs. You can customize your statements to fit your needs.
